Making Slavery Look Downright Compassionate
By John Francis Borra
I’ve issued this revised cartoon to underscore a remarkable fact: America’s first black president aids and abets the slaughter of African-Americans. And he does so with the guile and determination of the Ku Klux Klan in its heyday.
As part of their abortion initiative, Barack Obama and the Democrat majority in Congress recently shut down Washington DC’s very successful and extremely popular school voucher program for low-income families-- the majority of whom are black-- and diverted its funding to local abortion mills, including Planned Parenthood. (See my December 16 post, Black Genocide, Courtesy Obama & Congress at http://veritatisthecartoon.blogspot.com/2009/12/black-genocide-courtesy-obama-congress.html and Sheryl Henderson Blunt’s astute commentary, Shutting a Door on Opportunity in DC, at http://www.aolnews.com/opinion/article/opinion-shutting-a-door-of-opportunity-for-children-in-dc/19319911.) By the way, Planned Parenthood’s racist founder, Margaret Sanger, was an ardent supporter of the Klan; she spoke at numerous Klan rallies, sharing her vision of a lily-white America and her organization’s plan to bring it about.
Long ago, American slaveholders denied the personhood of African-Americans, just as today’s abortion advocates deny the personhood of unborn children. Even so, slaveholders valued their slaves, keeping them sheltered, clothed and fed. And they valued their slaves’ children, if only for their economic potential. So little do Obama and like minded politicians value human life that they cannot appreciate even so much as our children’s potential to contribute to the tax base upon which their own socialist agenda depends.
You’d think such self-serving politicians would look upon African-American children as latent votes for elections yet to come, if nothing more. But I suppose they expect to be comfortably retired by then and, like former slaveholders after the Civil War, have no more use for black people.

New Stanek WND column, “Live tweeting abortion”

Be careful what you attempt to demystify.
At 4:08 p.m. on Feb. 18 micro-blogger Angie Jackson began posting the blow-by-blows of her RU-486 abortion on Twitter. "I took the first pill a little under 2 hours ago," she tweeted.
The 27-year-old's intention, she later told ABC News, was to "demystify" RU-486 abortions....
RU-486 abortions are the coming rage, much less hassle for abortion profiteers than surgical abortions. The mother takes an RU-486 pill at the clinic, which kills the baby, and follows up at home with 1 or 2 doses of misoprostol pills to cause contractions to expel the baby. All for $480, as Angie tweeted.
The bonus for abortion clinics is if an RU-486 abortion doesn't work, which occurs 7.9% of the time according to RU-486's label, there is no guarantee, so mothers must then undergo and pay for surgical abortions - abortion double-dipping.
Notwithstanding that, along with serious, life-threatening complications that can lead to death, as has happened at least 8 times in the U.S. since RU-486 was legalized in 2000, are RU-486 abortions generally less hassle for aborting moms?
Jackson thought so, basing her decision on the fact her abortion would... be a "4 hour bleed-out," as she tweeted beforehand....
But the first rule of demystifying is one must herself be demystified before attempting to demystify. If not, the demystifying process may not go as anticipated, which is what happened in Jackson's case.
Only because Angie decided to live tweet her RU-486 abortion did we learn in actuality it's a long, drawn out, painful process. For that reason I thought Angie's exposé was a worthwhile educational experience for us all....
For 9 days, from Feb. 19-27, Jackson tweeted about such severe cramps she had difficulty walking across the room. She went through 17 Vicodin in 6 days and at a point soon after requesting a prescription for another 20.
Jackson tweeted nausea, vomiting, backaches, headaches and bleeding. 5 days into her abortion experience, Angie commented on another blog, "Honestly I had no idea this would go on so long. I thought the entire abortion would take a few hours, as I'd read in a few stories...."
At the bottom of this column you can read what Jackson's suffering looked like in real time, where I've synopsized the pain of her tweets....

Charmaine Yoest in The Wall Street Journal, Tax Payers Shouldn’t Fund Abortion
Charmaine has an article in The Wall Street Journal today on taxpayer funding of abortion.

It’s now becoming clear that Barack Obama is willing to put everything on the table in order to be the president who passes health-care reform.
Everything, that is, except a ban on federal funding for abortion.
Abortion tax payer funding

Last September, the president promised that “no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place.” Yet the legislation most likely to move forward in Congress would be the single greatest expansion of abortion since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.
The White House knows how to turn Mr. Obama’s September commitment into legislative action. I met with senior White House officials and told them that only adding a so-called Hyde Amendment to the health-care reform bills would fulfill the president’s promise to protect Americans from subsidizing abortion.
The Hyde Amendment dates back to the 1970s, when congressional leaders discovered that Medicaid was paying for nearly 300,000 abortions a year. This had not been an intended outcome of the Medicaid program, which was created in 1965 with strong bipartisan support. So in 1976 Rep. Henry Hyde introduced an amendment to the Health and Human Services appropriations bill prohibiting taxpayer funds from paying for abortions.

Thank you (foot)notes:
A number of Obama supporters are confusing Tax dollars for abortion and Tax payer funding for abortion. See Commonweal’s misunderstanding and argument.
The Alert Reader will note that The Wall Street Journal uses a ‘Ms.’ honorific for Charmaine and not ‘Dr.’. This is a WSJ style book issue and not a slight to holders of a terminal degree. The WSJ uses ‘Dr.’ to address only medical doctors and not mere Ph.D.’s.

“Kill the Bill, Not the Babies”
One thing is for sure: the Senate health care bill is definitely not good for your health on a basic level. Trying to figure it out and wading through it gets your heart rate up in an anxious sort of way and is very frustrating! I printed off four out of the 2,076 pages of the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” H.R. 3590 (which is approximately .2% of the whole project) so I could see for myself where abortion is allowed. Let me tell you: I can barely understand what I’m reading! I’d need to bring in a lawyer, so I am relying on help from reliable sources such as the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) and the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC).
In a memorandum from NRLC on February 24, they stress the point that H.R. 3590 “will allow direct federal funding of abortion, without restriction, in about 1,250 Community Health Centers.” This can be found in the Manager’s Amendment, which was tacked onto the end of H.R. 3590. CHC’s can legally perform abortions, and since this amendment would allow federal monies to be funneled to CHC’s, they would essentially be funding abortion. In addition, President Obama has shown no scruples in regard to this matter, and even wants to increase the $7 million appropriated to $11 million. To read the entire NRLC memorandum, please visit this link: http://www.nrlc.org/AHC/NRLCMemoCommHealth.html
The ACLJ has also been especially helpful in clarifying H.R. 3590 and the goings-on of the Congress and White House. Almost every evening I listen to their half-hour radio broadcast, led by their Chief Counsel, Jay Sekulow, and his son, Jordan. On February 23, the ACLJ provided a legal analysis of the bill: http://www.aclj.org/media/pdf/ACLJ_PresidentsProposalexpandedabortion_20100224.pdf One troubling fact that they have presented is that Planned Parenthood will be allowed to run clinics in the public schools. Even though Planned Parenthood could not perform abortions at the schools themselves, nothing prohibits them from referring students to get abortions or to seek “counsel” at freestanding Planned Parenthood clinics.
In short, the entire bill needs to be killed. Democrat Representative Bart Stupak has continued to stand by his pro-life principles, acknowledging that he and at least 11 other Democrats “are willing to kill President Obama’s health care overhaul over abortion language.” (See Fox News coverage: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/03/04/dems-wary-obamas-final-health-push/) While the Stupak Amendment in the House health care bill is not completely pro-life, it seeks to limit the funding of the majority of abortions and is the best we have at the moment. We need to stand behind Rep. Stupak, whether we are Republican or Democrat, and help him kill the bill, not the babies.

Health Care Summit Review
Well, the long-awaited Health Care Summit has come and gone, and guess what? Everything is clear as mud! What an extraordinary revelation. Who would’ve thought?
But of course we saw this coming! Gathered in the Blair House across from the White House, Barack Obama moderated a contrived “coming together” of Republicans and some Democrats over his proposed health care legislation. Nothing new was presented, but we do have a new pro-life hero: Republican Leader John Boehner had the guts to bring up the abortion issue. He presented this because, in President Obama’s proposed legislation (which is unconstitutional to begin with), he allows funding for abortion.
However, didn’t the President say in prior months that he does not believe in taxpayer-funded abortions? Before he proposed his own White House bill, he could have spurned the abortion-funding part of the Senate bill, saying that he advised them to not include the wording. But now Obama owns this bill; this is his bill, and it includes abortion. And to make matters worse, he completely ignored Rep. Boehner when he brought up the controversial but important subject. Our President is not even willing to talk about abortion. He thinks that the Republicans are the “party of no,” but he is essentially saying, “No, I refuse to speak about the abortion issue.” Oh wait, I forgot: it’s above his “pay grade.”
The health care bill is now hurdling towards the dreaded “reconciliation” move. (See my February 18th post for a review of this.) However, if enough pro-life Democrats can be convinced to vote no, the bill may be at least stalled because of the abortion language. If you have a moderate or pro-life Democrat in your area, please contact his office: write letters, e-mail, and call, begging him to remember the millions of unborn lives that hang in the balance of this treacherous decision.
