ACOG Abortion Bias
This past November the Committee on Ethics for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) – the governing body of those doctors who are entrusted with the precious task of helping mothers bring new life into the world – betrayed their life-saving mission and revealed their pro-abortion bias for all the world to see when it released “ACOG Committee Opinion No. 385”.
That opinion states that OB/GYNs ought not be allowed to refuse to perform abortions as a matter of conscience. Here are six of the committee’s recommendations.
The doctor must give his/her patients prior notice of any personal moral issues with abortion or contraceptive.
In the process of conveying this information they should not argue or advocate their position.
They must disclose all options to the patients ... including abortion.
They have a “duty” to refer patients to a doctor willing to provide these services if the patient requests it.
In an “emergency” in which a referral is not possible, or might negatively effect the patient’s physical or mental health, the providers have an “obligation” to commit the abortion ... regardless of the provider’s personal moral objections.
Providers with moral of religious objections should practice in close proximity to individuals who do not share that provider’s view.
