WICHITA, Kansas - A bill imposing new requirements on abortion providers is now on the desk of Governor Kathleen Sebelius.
The Kansas Senate overwhelmingly passed the measure Tuesday afternoon. Both sides agree this bill puts Governor Sebelius in a difficult position. Her office gave no indication Tuesday on if she’ll veto it. Her spokesperson says she’s “studying it carefully”. At the Choices Clinic in east Wichita they use an ultrasound machine to convince women not to have an abortion. The clinic’s founder says 90% of the time it’s effective.
