Pro-Life Unity and Organized for Life oppose the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor as Judge for the United States Supreme Court. Judge Sotomayor supports judicial activism and making policy from the bench. We believe that laws should reflect the will of the people and not the opinion of a judge.
“Judge Sotomayor will likely pursue judicial activism from the bench and promote the continued prenatal murder of Americans in the womb through abortion.” said Peter Shinn, President of Pro-Life Unity and National Director of Organized for Life.
We also believe the will of the people is not to promote or protect the abortion industry. Recent polling data shows that:
* 82% of Americans DO NOT want a justice who would support late-term or partial birth abortion.
* 69% of Americans DO NOT want a justice who would oppose parental involvement laws.
* A MAJORITY of Americans consider themselves to be pro-life.
Another activist judge on the Court will undoubtedly vote to uphold existing abortion rulings and to overturn reasonable pro-life policies that promote and protect life, thus Sonia Sotomayor the wrong choice for the United States Supreme Court.
She is on record as having said “The court of appeals is where policy is made”. Please vote against her nomination.
