§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

172 Scriptures Mentioning “Child”—56 - 60.  Prayer at end.

In one Internet search for the word child, 172 passages were listed.
Here are five of them.

It may be interesting to see the context in which this word is placed.  It may be worthwhile to ponder the passage and sort out the meaning of this word among the others in any passage.  It may be surprising how many thoughts will pop up unheralded to stretch our thinking a bit in God’s direction.

Does the word refer to a specific child?  If so, who is it?  What was this child’s place in the world?

Is the scripture one that brings joy?  Sadness?  Contemplation?
Does “child” refer to the Saviour in some of the entries?
What does “child” mean to you in one passage or another?

In the pro-life world, a child takes a primary center place.  That is where new human life begins, with a child, a baby.

1 Kings 17:22
And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

1 Kings 17:23
And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

2 Kings 4:14
And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.

2 Kings 4:18
And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

2 Kings 4:26

Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well:

Lord, direct our thoughts to You as we ponder these sentences from Your word, about children.  Lead us to pray for children – in general, those in the womb, some that we know, our own, our friends’ or neighbors’.  Lead us, Lord, to humble prayer for all children
