1 John 4:12 Thought/Prayer: Only Your Viewpoint, Lord. Topics: 2 at end.
“No one has seen God at any time: if we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is perfected in us.” KJV http://www.bible.com (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com).
One proof of God’s abiding in us is our love for one another. It should naturally flow out from us because He is Love. We might say that Jesus was Love Personified. We have the potential to be this way, although until in glory we will never have the full perfection that God can give us.
But we can be open to all the potential that God will create in us here on Earth. We can give over our lives to Him, and thus giving Him the greatest chance to work in us.
But what about other Christians who are supposed to be doing the same thing . . . opening up to God to work His will in them? We think we see them doing just the opposite, even doing things that go against the basic tenets of the Christian walk in our view, and thus causing problems for Christians in general. How can we do our work for LIFE when we see others being hard to get along with or just plainly (in our view) on the wrong track here?
But, God is Love (I John 4:8, KJV). And we must try to let Him lead us in our walk, no matter what we think others may be doing. Yes, others may frustrate us and sometimes seem miserably off-course, but all who truly know Jesus as Lord are truly in His pans in some manner. Sometimes we may have to share our viewpoint with them. Sometimes we may need to pray doubly hard for them. They may overlook us, seemingly trod us down, or challenge us. But they are still our brethren. And they still look toward bringing LIFE in its fullest to our planet.
Lord, help us today to pray for our own attitudes toward those who serve with us for LIFE. May we let You perfect something in us out of our relationships with other Christians. And help us pray for all Christians who stand for LIFE to do so with only Your guidance and viewpoints. Then You can better make big things happen! We ask for it, Lord.
