Daniel 2:21 (Pt. 3) Thought/Prayer: Our Part in Times and Epochs. Topics: 2 at end.
“It is He who changes the times and the epochs;
He removes kings and establishes kings;
He gives wisdom to wise men

The New Living Translation puts it this way:
“He controls the course of world events;
he removes kings and sets up other kings.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the scholars.” (NLT) New Living Translation
Our God controls the course of world events, controlling times and those lengthy amounts of time, epochs. So how do we believers relate to this – we who feel so small and without power – How do we fit into the picture, into the plans? Are we included in this scenario at all?
Yes! Just look at I Tim. 2:1,2. “I exhort therefore that, first of
all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” If we are to pray for kings, then we have a part in God’s control of what takes place on planet Earth. We don’t control! But our God does, and He tells us to pray for kings (and queens would be understood) (and presidents surely – where there are no kings). It is He who determines outcomes: but He listens to His children. John 15:7 – “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” KJV
One condition here is that we be in the Word. Prayer and the Word. This is our assignment from God who controls it all. Lord, we pray that we may always ask you for Your perfect will to be done. We claim the scriptures that tell us that you hear us and respond to our petitions. Please help us to send them to you regularly and without ceasing as we ponder Your power in the universe and our part in it.
