§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Ecclesiastes 3:11   Thought/Prayer:  “Out of Time and Place.”  Topics:  2 at end.

“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”  KJV   (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

It seemed an anachronism, that lawn chair sitting in snow.  What made it even more anachronistic was that someone was sitting in it, in the snow.  The broad canvas back of green contrasted with winter’s white. This out-of-time-and-place Object-with-Person was an easy eye-catcher.  It caught mine even though I was just driving by.

The chair with the person in it (whom I could not totally see) was at the edge of a small lake; could have evoked thoughts of fishing.  But no, the reason for this arrangement of seating was a small embankment from the road’s fence down to the water.  It was just steep enough to accommodate a little sled and some kids.  These were the reason for the lawn chair:  snow, and kids or grandkids.

A man was with these children to help them manage the sled.  I was past the scene before anyone slipped downhill on it, but I know someone soon would have.  The person in the out-of- place-and-time chair would be rewarded for watching.  The children would be rewarded because that person was watching.  And, the children would be extra rewarded by the fun feeling of the downhill ride, no matter how short.

Are there ever times or things that seem out of place in our lives, yet they are ordered by God?  Most every Christian has probably, at some time or another, experienced something that just didn’t make sense at the time, but later the purpose for it became clear (maybe even years later).  Once my husband and I made a change of residence after having made two moves earlier, both within a year.  Later it became clear that there were reasons for the first moves (I met up with the Lord Jesus) and the later one (a family member would greatly need us to be close by).  God’s anachronism in our lives was not one at all.  There was perfect timing.  “In His time,” as the scripture above says.

When we struggle to fight against abortion and euthanasia, things happen that don’t make sense – then!  But later, we may see things fall into place.  Or, we may never see that.  Either way, God is in control, and whatever He allows to come into our lives and service is in His plan for us.  In pro-life work, it may seem that there is always something we deal with that we wish weren’t there.  Perhaps we should just remember that although things aren’t sense-inspiring to us, God has no problem with it all.  Our part is to keep our hearts open to Him so that the things that fall into our lives are the best ones, whether they seem anachronisms or not.

Lord, help us to not faunch, raging about all upset.  Help us to know that You are the one in control; especially help us to seek You so that we will recognize Your control in our lives because we’ve sincerely asked for it.  Then bring on the anachronisms!  We’ll use them for You and the babies, the elderly.

Topics:  Pray for discernment when things don’t seem to make sense as pro-life people.
Foreign missionaries, to be whole-heartedly pro-life
