§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Genesis 1:12 (P t. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  Balance, Upright.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The earth brought forth grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with its seed in it, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.”  WEB (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

It took skill.  Getting a 14-foot tree with its large root ball out of a truck bed seemed an easy task with use of a Bobcat (one of those loader machines that seem to be able to get in anywhere and do whatever tasks) with a small fork lift attached to the front.  Getting it down a sloping yard to its intended position was definitely trickier.

It was perched on the forklift on the front of the Bobcat.  How in the world would that tree make it down the slope without toppling?  Skill.  The driver needed (and had) great skill.  But it was breath-holding to observers.

It went slowly (probably the key to success), and the objective seemed to be to keep the tree as vertical as possible.  Since the tree couldn’t right itself if it became a bit tilted, the driver had to maneuver the machine to keep it upright.  Actually, the machine tilted the tree back toward the driver.  Part of the trunk could lean on the machine for some stability.

The driver just calculated the amount of tilt the tree needed as it went down the slope.  And gravity helped.  The tilted tree gravitated down, centering its core, which helped keep it on the tines of the fork lift.

Application to life?  Maybe a stretch here, but we all go down slopes in life, slopes of different degrees.  But no matter the decline we are on, God can hold us upright and centered by His gravity of love.  It stabilizes us.  We may be on tilt a bit, and sometimes a “tilt” is of our own making and not good.  But also, God may tilt us back a bit to change our outlook; to give us a new stance or view – but we can still be stable.

Families who feel all tilted and unbalanced because of LIFE situations to decide need to know that they can still be grounded securely and that in time, they will feel upright again and truly secure.  Lord, help us to help them.

Topics:  Pray for opportunity to help those who are going through precarious times of decisions, times when they may be tempted to not wait on the Lord to give them the stability He can offer.
