§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Hebrews 10:25 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  Assembling Our Selves.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.”  (AKJV)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com

There is one admonition in this scripture.  No, it’s not a big accusatory admonition; it’s just a few words, but perhaps we should take note of them.  They are in the first half of this one-sentence scripture, and they have to do with being careful to not ignore the “assembling of ourselves together.”  It also refers to some folks who do ignore getting together as believers.  These folks get no pats on the back from this little scripture.

This first half of the sentence precedes the “exhorting” part of the scripture.  It is almost like the writer is saying that we must get together, and when we do, we are to encourage one another.  Well, that makes sense, doesn’t it?

Maybe it’s something like this:  “Well, folks, we need to be encouraging each other here.  So, get don’t be too lazy or unconcerned to make the effort to gather together.  Get up and at ‘em and form a group of some kind; and then:  ‘exhort’”

There are so many reasons we may put off joining a group.  We’re too busy; we are too shy; we don’t know enough to understand what is being taught.  Sometimes in busy families it is very difficult to consider adding one more thing to the schedule.  However, when we do, the results may be amazing; our spiritual growth may just increase right along, as we learn and share and are built up through others’ exhortation.

Even church services my be considered “gathering together.”  Even though the personal touch is not as great, just the experience of worshipping together is a real builder-upper.

So let us who seek to promote LIFE and all its created beauty, at least be willing to consider ways of increasing our growth through the association with other believers.  Lord, help us to be willing to seek You, with others. You will bless.  And especially if such associations are centered around LIFE issues, You may bring great success in helping others deal with very difficult circumstances and times.

Topics:  Pray for growth with other believers, by gathering together, however it may be.
