§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Hebrews 12:2   Thought/Prayer:  Glance Often.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
KJV http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

How many times do you check guide posts along your way?  How many times a day do you think of God or the Bible and do a little mini-assessment of where you “are” in that particular day?  How many days do you wish you had checked more often to make certain you were on the right track with your to-do list because you wasted a bunch of time?

For anyone who plays a musical instrument, the key signature is a most important aspect of a score of music.  The key signature gives us the number of sharps or flats to be played in a piece.  A sharp is played by the pianists’ fingers a partial tone above the note on the line.  A flat is the opposite – and is played a partial tone below the note on the line.  There are ways for other instruments to accomplish the same result.  Many pieces of music have no sharps or flats in the key signature.

This scripture talks of looking to Jesus.  So how often does a person need to do this?  How often do we need to look toward Jesus?

Just as a pianist or other players of instruments will need to refer to the key signature as they play, Christians look to the standards set by our Lord when playing their life-song, perhaps we could say.  A musician may be surprised should he or she actually count the number of glances to the key signature to make sure the correct sharps and flats are being played.  Particularly in a piece of music where the key signature changes several times in the piece, many extra glances of assurance are probably required to play the piece as it should be.  The key signature is helps set the essence of the piece.  Jesus sets the essence of our lives.

As we look to Jesus, we always know that His directions for living our lives are set in His will for us.  Just as the key signature indicates the ups and downs of a piece of music, Jesus is the steady reference for our ups and downs.

Lord, may we not forget to check with you, to look to you, often, as we go about our daily living.  May we always remember that you have set the signature of the course of our lives, and you have set the course of the lives of the women in the world and of their babies yet to be born.  Thank you for setting the keys for our lives, each and every one.

Topics:  Pray for the awareness to continually refer to our Lord for the course of our lives.
