§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Hebrews 4:15 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Not Unable to Feel for Us.  Topics:  2 at end.

“For we have not a High Priest who is unable to feel for us in our weaknesses, but one who was tempted in every respect just as we are tempted, and yet did not sin.”  Weymouth’s New Testament http://bible.cc/luke/22-15.htm  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

Did you notice the feeling part of this scripture?  So often we talk about feelings, being touchy-feely, or trying to find out how someone feels about something or someone.  Sometimes the word can almost take on the connotation of think about something:  How do you feel about that? (What you think about that?)

But here we are told, directly, that Jesus Christ, our High Priest who intercedes before God for us, feels for us in our weakness.  He knows what it is like to be human (all the while being God at the same time).  Can we really absorb the connotations of this?  Can we really picture the God of creation understanding our human weaknesses?  No.  No, we cannot.  We can’t understand, but we can surely appreciate.

It is very meaningful to know that our God not only understands our human frailties, but He actually experienced them.  He became weak in order to understand our weaknesses.  He left glory to become weak and vulnerable for us, just as we are weak and vulnerable to all kinds of situations and risks.  He Himself took on the greatest risk, that of death for Himself.  He took that risk as in weakness, for us.  Hallelujah that he did!

When we notice some of our weaknesses (and the Holy Spirit is expert at pointing them out), we may become discouraged and think no one could possibly understand us, that no one surely encountered such risk and temptation as we have.  But buck up!  There is always Someone who understands:  Jesus Christ the crucified.  He can “feel for us in our weakness.”

Lord, help us to realize this amazing characteristic of our Lord’s character:  He feels for us.  It’s because he did feel for us that He took upon Himself the cross.  Help us to realize that we become strong because of His weakness; and it is so good to know that he has been through all temptations known to man, thus feeling for us very personally.  He feels for those women who have become pregnant from ill-chosen pathways.  Help us to remember this, Lord, and not to judge.

Topics:  Pray to always remember that our Lord understands our weakness, and that we always have the hope in Him that He will help us become strong for whatever service he requires of us.
Our nation’s military leaders, to understand the importance of created LIFE.
