§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

I John 4:16 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  Continuing.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And as for us, we know the love which God has for us, and we confide in it. God is love, and he who continues to love continues in union with God, and God continues in union with him.”  WEY (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

The word “continues” here may be of special note.  We’re told that God is love; we’re told that when we keep on loving, we keep on being in union with God.  And not only that . . . God continues keeping on, in union also!  This seems like a marvelous arrangement of interaction.  What can be more comforting than to know that the true God above has promised to continue to love us in a union beyond what we as humans could create or even imagine.  Well, it’s quite extraordinary!

We see here that God must totally honor . . . Love.  He honors His own nature:  Love.  And He honors his creations (us) when we love . . . honors us by continuing to love us even to the point of a union.  If we’re going to be joined in union with someone . . . what greater One than God!  That He even desires this is mind-boggling; but then, He is Love; he created us out of love.  So maybe it is not so far-fetched to think of Him as loving us enough to want to be joined with us, in loving.  To be joined with us in love is an even greater way of honoring Himself as love . . . and us as his creations-Loved.

This sounds like going in circles.  And we might consider that it is.  What is the symbol of the greatest commitment between humans, in love?  The wedding ring.  A circular ornament for the hand; a statement of the greatest bilateral human commitment for all to see.  And we know that a ring has no beginning or end.  When it is formed, no point of beginning can be found.  Neither an end.

So as a ring is in its nature a continuous circle, so is God’s love.  Continuance.  That is the key.  And nothing in all creation is more continuing than God; He is eternal.  Lord, may we understand this to the best of our finite ability.  And may we learn to understand it enough to help others see and understand the continuing nature of Your love . . . enough to see it as something to consider when making decisions of life and death.

Topics:  Pray for understanding of this great concept of God’s continuance with us and for the ability to share it.
