§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

I Peter 4:10   Thought/Prayer:  Narrowing Down.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Whatever be the gifts which each has received, you must use them for one another’s benefit, as good stewards of God’s many-sided kindness.”  WNT (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

When driving over an overpass above a train yard, something caught my attention:  the narrowing down of probably 8 train tracks into one.  I believe this was some type of industrial yard where perhaps manufactured products were sent off to destinations by rail.  Although I noticed this, my sight was limited because I was traveling.  But it seems there were many tank cars in the yard on various combinations of rail tracks.

So how could this have any possible bearing on this devotion being penned (well, typed)?  Maybe it’s a far stretch.  But could it not be thought that, in the world of Christianity, God uses many people to accomplish His will which is, of course, the one mainline upon which He wants us to travel.

In this passage, we see that God has given each person the gifts He chooses in order to develop their employment in our life’s work.  So, in this regard, perhaps the image of the multiple-into-one train tracks can illustrate the varied skills that Christians are given; but they are all channeled into one main goal of service, one mainline:  the service in God . . . of God.

So what track are you on today, with the gifts God has given you?  Do you even think you have any “gifts”?  You do.  And you are on the right track with them just by possessing them.  The question is, where are you going to let the Lord take you on your track in order to, along with many others on their tracks, work your work so that it is headed for the mainline, God’s will in your life.

The beginning place is prayer.  Pray about what you are to do to mainline your life into the Lord’s will.  Your track may be far removed from your best friend’s, but it is only about yours that you need be concerned.  God will deal with your friend about his or her route.  Just ask to be open to God’s leading and then prayerfully evaluate the opportunities that come along for you to make decisions about service in ministry.  If your eyes and heart are open, God will lead you right into the mainline and join you with others he has called to the same or similar ministry.  Then things start really movin’ on down the track, as we say.

Lord, help us to want to prayerfully approach You about our work in Earth in Your name and under Your direction.  We ask You especially when it comes to work with hurting families making LIFE decisions – to be ready to advise them because we are on Your track and have been brought to their situation via the mainline.

Topics:  Pray to pray and then to act and then to praise God as He directs us into our work for Him, as we narrow down our ministry choices into the mainline tasks of progress He has for each of us.
