Why pray for countries considering abortion legislation? What has that to do with us? We have enough concern about abortion in our own nation!
That we have concern about abortion in our nation, it’s true that this is true. But no nation is an island unto itself in our world today. What goes on in other nations should be quite important to us; we should try to understand what is going on elsewhere, around the globe we all call home. And with the latest in communications, it is entirely easy to know what goes on 12,500 miles opposite of us (half-way around the globe, as we put it). Just think of the changes that have come out of communication through Facebook, iPhones, and on and on: Revolutions, even.
Those who used to be considered our neighbors were just next door, or on the next farm down the road; now they are all over Earth, these neighbors of ours. And for nations where abortion is on agendas and ballots, those citizens need our prayers just as do our own legislators.
The pro-life persons involved also need our prayers, wherever they are. On the ‘Net, there are great reports of victories for LIFE, everywhere it seems on some days. The nations who do not make it onto mainstream news are still important to the LIFE cause. Sometimes their events and victories are seen in pro-life daily reports or through organizations’ e-mails. They all need our prayers, in each and every nation.
Lord, help us not to limit our concern and prayers to our own little area of the world; help us to see the need to support those standing for created LIFE everywhere; and help us to remember them in our prayers. We ask that you bring victory all over Planet Earth, for LIFE.
