§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Isaiah 11:6 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  God Chose a Lamb.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.”  KJV http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

Why could it be that in this scripture, the wolf (wild) is contrasted with the lamb (tame), the leopard (wild) with the kid (tame), and the lion (wild) with the calf (tame), all the tame animals being young?  When we think of Christ’s coming as a baby (helpless and dependent on care from his parents), and His being the Sacrificial Lamb for our redemption, (John 1:29), and then His being The Lion of Judah (Revelation 5:5), how startling when we really consider it.  There are songs that proclaim this contrast.  The Bible develops this theme.

God could have, we know, chosen any animal to portray the role and purpose of the Savior.  He could have described the Savior as a ram, but he instead chose lamb.  It was, of course, a ram nearby that saved Isaac from being sacrificed, and the animal that bore the sins of the Israelites away into the wilderness was a scapegoat.  But our Lord was a lamb; and a lion, arch enemies in the natural world on Earth.

His chosen role was that of a lamb, animals seemingly mild-tempered and perhaps easily loved because of a cuddly appearance.  But they are helpless to resist sacrifice, even much more than a full-grown ram.  Imagine trying to do what it would take to sacrifice a lion!  We know that our Lord could have resisted the sacrifice of Himself, but He willingly laid down his life (John 10:18).  He is depicted as vulnerable because He was, vulnerable as a human.

Our children are vulnerable we know.  We have great concern for this as families.  The unborn are especially so, with abortion being hailed as a fix for lots of problems.  But Christ reigns as the Lion that He is.  He became the Lamb and then the Lion for all of us, because He chose to, and He knew we all needed Him.

Lord, today we pray that the most vulnerable among us, babies in the womb, will each and every one be born – yes, just be born.  Their vulnerability parallels yours, Lord, so we pray for parents to come to know You as the Sacrificial Lamb for themselves, and then as the children grow to the age of accountability, that they may know You also as the Lion of Judah, ruling their lives in victory.

Topics:  Pray for vulnerable babies, both in and out of the womb, that they will be born and that they will know Jesus as Savior.
The President of the United States of America, for his heart to be for babies.
