§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Job 37:1-5 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Hear Through a Rumbling.  Topics:  2 at end.

Job’s friend, Elihu, tells Job:
    “At this also my heart trembles,
      And leaps from its place.
    Listen closely to the thunder of His voice,
      And the rumbling that goes out from His mouth.
    Under the whole heaven He lets it loose,
      And His lightning to the ends of the earth.
    After it, a voice roars;
      He thunders with His majestic voice,
      And He does not restrain the lightnings when His voice is heard.
    God thunders with His voice wondrously,
      Doing great things which we cannot comprehend.” (NASB® http://www.lockman.org.)  http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com).

Even though our hearts leap and shake when God speaks loudly in to our lives, we still are to listen closely.  So, how do you hear a voice, well, when it’s thundering and rumbling?  Wouldn’t words be drowned out within the noise of getting the message into our ears?  How could our ears even take it – accept it, absorb it?

We don’t know – but however it is, we are to closely listen.  Through his bigness God still can make his message understood.  Sometimes he has to boom it out for us mortals to even notice perhaps.  Sometimes he has to ruffle/rumble things up or roar at us for us to pay any attention at all.  Sometimes we recalcitrant humans can be well, hard to manage.  We were given self-will, and positive self-will brings about much good for God’s kingdom, but sometimes we are so intent on doing that good (or just daily things) that we forget to listen to God’s small voice – thusly bringing on his thunderous way of speaking.

Maybe, you say, “I haven’t had God rumble at me – am I not important enough that he wants to do this ‘at me’?”  Never worry.  If you are already listening closely, maybe he won’t ever need to roar into your ear.  If you are paying attention sincerely, reading your Bible, praying for His answers, you may not need thunder.  But chances are, at least a few times in your life, you’ll receive some type of huge revelation that comes to you – and it would seem that it’s a ROAR!

As we do our work for LIFE issues, Lord, we want to pay attention all the time, but we know distraction comes easily, and so we ask you to help us stay alert to all the ways in which you speak, Bible, prayer, opinion of God-seeking friends – help us to hear your voice through it all.  Help us to know.  Help us to find LIFE for all, including the unborn, as we listen.

Topics:  Pray for ears to hear.
