§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

John 13:3   Thought/Prayer: But Yet a Servant.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Jesus, knowing that the Father had given him all things into his hands, and that he came out from God and was going to God, . . . ” (DARBY) DARBY http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

This description of Jesus occurs, incredibly, immediately before he wrapped a towel around himself and then knelt to wash the feet of his disciples.  What a combination of connection!  The writer of this, the apostle John, in some way knew what Jesus was thinking and wrote it into his description.  We should consider this connection.

Here we have the Lord of the Universe, the Creator of the world, considering his leaving Heaven and coming to be one of us, and also considering going back there to his true home.  And then he kneels to serve his friends with foot-washing.  How can this be, that he is thinking such deep and lofty thoughts that are so great as to be non-understandable to us humans, and then He serves a group of humans from a humbling position at their feet.  What a Lord!  He sums up His glorious plan from the heavens and to Earth, but then washes feet, probably dusty feet.

Let us praise and praise God for our Lord and His servant heart,  regardless of his origins and destination,  (“. . . who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped, . . . [Phil. 2:6, ASV]).  It is just one sentence here in the book of John, revealing Jesus’ thoughts, deep and deeper, but it sums up His mission to Earth:  He came here, and a few years later, he went home.  But between came, and went, Earth’s part in the entire plan for the universe was set in place, and it was all based on a servant attitude.  The cross is the epitome of a servant heart, one that broke into water and blood there on that cross.

Lord, help us to understand as much as possible about this Jesus the Christ and how he viewed his presence here on Earth.  Help us to always consider His grand heritage, all the while asking Him to help us wash feet and more feet every day in service.  Lord of all, and yet a servant.  Pray that this mighty servant-God will reveal Himself at this very moment to women who need Him to spiritually wash their feet because of His love for them and for the children they unexpectedly carry in the womb.

Topics:  Pray for enlightenment as to Jesus’ life and ministry for those who face a crisis of an unexpected new life coming in to their lives.  Pray also for pro-life workers to especially consider Jesus’ model as a servant.
