§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Judges 7:5-9 (Pt. 4) Thought/Prayer: An Army of Newborns? Uncomfortable . . Topics:2 at end.

“And he brought down the people to the water; and Jehovah said to Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down on his knees to drink.  And the number of them that lapped, with their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men; and all the rest of the people bowed down on their knees to drink water.  And Jehovah said to Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and give Midian into thy hand; and let all the people go every man to his place.  And they took the victuals of the people in their hand, and their trumpets; and all the men of Israel he sent away, every man to his tent, but retained the three hundred men. Now the camp of Midian was beneath him in the valley.  And it came to pass in that night, that Jehovah said to him, Arise, go down to the camp; for I have given it into thy hand.”  DARBY (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com

Could we perhaps picture an army of babies?  What if we, when thinking about the power of armies to go against abortion, were to imagine a large army of newborns, healthy and vigorous, somehow marching together toward a common destination?  Say perhaps that we could imagine them together stepping out toward hospitals that do abortions?  Or could we imagine them going toward schools, high schools and middle schools, where classes teach about the functions of male and female?  Or let’s think of them storming toward abortion clinics.

Is this is rather disturbing to think about?  Even though I’m writing this, it seems to cause a bit of a chill to my own self.

Now why would that be?  Good question.  I’m not certain just why.  What is it about the thought of an army of newborn babies that seems a bit too “much,” too honest?

I don’t know.  Is it really too honest?  How can something so totally improbable be too up front with truth?  Why would this be bothersome when it’s just made up, a mental picture?

Maybe it’s because it is beyond mental and gets to my heart.  Maybe it’s because I don’t want to picture the countenances of these babies:  their faces might look, again, too honest.  Maybe they would be frowning with effort and determination.  Maybe they would personify dismay as in no other scenario.  Maybe they would be awash in tears.  However they would appear, they’re honest beyond being inviting.  There would be something about them that would cause a catch in the breath or a low bit of a moan.

Well, we know that this is fictitious.  But if this could happen, it might be the best image of truth-in-the-cause possible.  These babies would have knowledge beyond their hours (not years or even days), and they would reach into our hearts to grab us and make us look at them.  And we would change.

Because these babies would know of all the millions who were not in their ranks.

Lord, this imaginary scene still leaves a message:  “Help them.” “Save them.”  Help those who tomorrow will not be in the march.  Save them today.  Let us pray to save all of those destined for death.

Topics:  Pray for the meaningful desire to help all those destined for death, whether through prayer or some other avenue.
