§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Luke 2:1-14 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Come, Jeanette Isabella.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The Birth of Jesus
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
The Shepherds and Angels
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, see, the angel of the Lord came on them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said to them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign to you; You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”  (AKJV)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

An unusual but beautiful Christmas song that is in public domain is this one:  “Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella,” a French carol from the 1500’s.  It tells a little story about a little girl and the baby Jesus.

Bring a torch, Jeannette, Isabella!
Bring a torch, To the cradle run.
It is Jesus, good folk of the village;
Christ is born, and Mary calls us.
Ah, ah,
Beautiful is the Mother;
Ah, ah, beautiful is the Son!

Cloudless is the sky above us.
Leave your bed – and quietly come.
Come, and you will see the Small One,
Like a star, His face is shining.
Go, go,
Put on your finest garments;
Go, go – Bring your finest gifts.

Wrong it is when the Child is sleeping,
Wrong to make the slightest sound.
Come you, one and all to adore Him,
But, be still – Adore in silence.
Hush, hush,
Him we must not waken,
Hush, hush – Holy is His sleep.

Gently come to the humble stable,
Pause beside His holy bed.
See how beautiful is Jesus,
Like a rose, so pure, so lovely.
Hush, hush,
Sweet is the sleep of Jesus,
Hush, hush – Holy is His rest.

Someone, probably a family member, is hurrying to awaken Jeanette Isabella with the news that there has been a special birth . . . and come quickly to see!  Get a torch to light the way.

The folks in the village are told that this is Jesus who has come!  and ah – how beautiful are the baby and His mother.  Mary calls us to come and see, Jeanette Isabella.  But come quietly.

The little one’s face is shining – radiating like a star.
But first put on your best clothes.  And go, bringing the finest gifts you have.

But, Jeanette Isabella, you must not make any sound.  The little baby is asleep.  Just adore Him without making a sound.  Shh, Shh . . . His sleep is holy.

The beauty of a rose is in this baby.  Come very gently and stop and look at how beautiful He is . . . a rose so pure and lovely.  Hush hush.  His sleep is sweet: it is holy.

Whoever it is who loves Jeanette Isabella, both he or she and Jeanette Isabella are blessed.  To get to see the newborn Christ child! The torch will illuminate Him, just as He will illuminate the world.  Yes, come, Jeanette Isabella and all who would worship this child.

Lord, may all children in the womb be loved as much, no matter the circumstances of their being there.  And thank You for such a sweet song to honor Him in reverent and quiet awe.

Topics:  Praise God for the newborn Jesus and for all babies in the womb right now.  May they be born to praise You also, Lord.
