§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Mark 5:  24 - 34   Thought/Prayer:  That Silent Transfer of Power.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And he went with him, and a large crowd followed him and pressed on him. And a certain woman who had had a flux of blood twelve years, and had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent everything she had and had found no advantage from it, but had rather got worse, having heard concerning Jesus, came in the crowd behind and touched his clothes; for she said, If I shall touch but his clothes I shall be healed. And immediately her fountain of blood was dried up, and she knew in her body that she was cured from the scourge.  And immediately Jesus, knowing in himself the power that had gone out of him, turning round in the crowd said, Who has touched my clothes? And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the crowd pressing on thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her who had done this. But the woman, frightened and trembling, knowing what had taken place in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith has healed thee; go in peace, and be well of thy scourge.” DBY http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

I started to write this about the fact that Jesus didn’t know He had healed someone.  But that would have been incorrect.  He did know.  He knew “the power that had gone out of him.”  He knew that someone had touched him (and probably knew just who it was since he has knowledge of everything), but he turned around and asked, “Who touched me”?
The quaking woman knew she was healed.  Jesus felt power go out from him, and she felt it come into her body and do its healing work.  No one else even knew it had happened.

But, yes.  She confessed!

How astonishing, this transfer of power.  How astonishing that Christ could feel it leave Him.  How marvelous it would be if we could have knowledge about how that happened – but it’s beyond us mortals – just as it should be.  We don’t want a God about whom we know everything.  We need a God way beyond ourselves in knowledge and power.

Yes, we have Him in that way.  But even so, He is so attuned to the “small” things, such as a touch on His garment and its results, that he asks us all about it.  Lord, help us to always be willing to reach out for a touch on you, for ourselves, for someone else, for LIFE.  Help us to not be afraid to do this; believing, Your power will come to us.

Topics:  Pray for Christians to grow in faith and to know that they can reach out to Christ at any time, in any way, for healing and for answers to their prayers.
