Matthew 12:25 (Pt. 3) Thought/Prayer: Fighting Our Own Self, Within? Topics: 2 at end.
“And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, ‘Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: . . .’” KJV http://www.bible.com (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)
Is it possible for a Christian “house” to be divided against itself within our own selves? We know that our physical bodies are a housing for the Holy Spirit as in I Corinthians 6:19: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?” (NASB®) http://www.lockman.org. http://www.bible.com (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com).
What if we are fighting our own self, within this housing? How could this be, within a committed Christian?
Perhaps it could have to do with wavering. How committed are we to God’s purposes, en total? What even insignificant parts in us (such as can lurk in attitudes, willfulness, or laziness) cause us to have less than unified hearts toward our Christian work? Or maybe we just can’t come to grips with where we stand on certain political or moral issues. We wave forth and back as a flag in the wind. But God, please help us if we don’t have any conflict because apathy has taken over!
Our individual commitments are carried out in our individual lives and mannerisms and strides. We must be of one purpose from within our hearts and minds. Lord, we ask for this; we ask you to help us here. Please point out our weak spots that can cause great wars within – and help us to become acutely aware of these in order that we may seek our unity with you as paramount to focused service. Our nation cannot stand divided, particularly if Christian hearts are forced in two, wavering, and weak. Lord, bring us unity within for the good of Christ, our Christian selves, and our beautiful nation.
Topics: Pray for conviction to be wholly for God and for LIFE.
