§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Matthew 5:6   Thought/Prayer:  Famished for God.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”  KJV http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

I have learned that the word for “hunger” here means famished.  This is not just your go-to-the-‘fridge-to-see-what’s-available type of hunger.  It not a nudge for a snack.  This is about really needing sustenance.  But, of course, this statement by Jesus is referring to spiritual hunger.

In a physical sense, we can tell when we’re in need of a good sustaining meal.  But can we tell when dealing with spiritual hunger? Yes . . . but . . .

Each of us Christians must evaluate spiritual cravings individually.  Cravings, we say?  Well, are we ever hungry enough spiritually to actually “crave” God?  For me, yes.
But I must also confess that it’s often so much easier to ignore pangs toward God than it is a snack-oriented craving in between meals.

Why is this?  Why is it seemingly so much easier to ignore promptings of the Spirit than it is our own stomachs?  Perhaps the physical is much more “at hand” than the physically unseen qualities of our spirits.  But there’s no excuse here for those of us professing Christ Who wants our attention.

Lord, help us today to pay great heed to the prompting of hunger pangs for You.  Help us as warriors for LIFE to desire Your fellowship and feeding as much as we desire our 3-squares-a-day plus a snack or two.  Help us to realize that the more we are fed from You, the more we grow—in You.

Topics:  Pray for giant appetites for God within the ranks of pro-life individuals.
Specific states, regarding all life-issues at stake
