§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Micah 7:7-9 (Pt.5)  Thought/Prayer:  I Will Wait.  Topics:  2 at end.

“But I will look to the LORD;
I will wait for the God of my salvation.
My God will hear me.

Zion’s Vindication

Do not rejoice over me, my enemy!
Though I have fallen, I will stand up;
though I sit in darkness,
the LORD will be my light.
Because I have sinned against Him,
I must endure the LORD’s rage
until He argues my case
and establishes justice for me.
He will bring me into the light;
I will see His salvation.”  HCSB Scripture quotations marked HCSB are taken from the Holman Christian Standard Bible®, Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2009 by Holman Bible Publishers. Maybe we don’t want to wait for God.  Maybe we want to run out in front of Him and take off on rabbit trails or chase a goose.  Maybe we get to thinking that no matter what, he won’t hear or answer our requests.

Micah, here, says not only that he will wait for God, but God will hear him.  Jeremiah 33:3 tells us that God will answer us (after he hears us, of course).

Is it possible that there may be a connection between waiting for God and His answers to us?  Is it possible that while we’re waiting, we may receive insight into how He wants to deal with us, insights about how to pray?  Is it possible that while we’re waiting, we may be in a more quiet mode perhaps - - of contemplation, in thought processes of seeking instead of processes of planning and configuring the potential future?

Perhaps as we contemplate our lives’ pro-LIFE efforts, we should try “waiting.”  Rabbit trails distract us.  The goose or gander we’re chasing won’t be caught.  God isn’t going anywhere.  He’s always alive, and always everywhere; so we can’t get away from him if we wanted to.  So why not just wait before Him and seek Him?  Take some time off from the chase.  Just listen.

Hard to do, we say.  Yes, for accomplish-minded people, as most of us are, it is very difficult to just wait.  But if we want to be effective in ministry, it just takes some of this.

Lord, help us to be willing to wait for you.  You waited for us to come to You and to make us your Lord and Savior.  You are still waiting for those of us who do not know You in that capacity.  So help us to wait for you and your direction, no matter how long it seems to take.  You will answer, for us, for babies, for all who face LIFE struggles.

Topics:  Pray for the willingness to wait for the God of our Salvation.
