Where will each of us be when the exaltation of the name of Jesus by everyone occurs? Will we still be on Earth, in Heaven . . . where? Well, wherever we are, it must certainly be the grandest event in which any of us will ever participate. At the moment this occurs, the entire universe will know Jesus Christ as the only reigning King. We all will come under His Authority of love and grace. Hallelujah.
As we go about our daily service – pro-life, ministering to various needs of people, teaching Sunday school – perhaps this grand time in history seems distant and only remotely connected to our daily lives, sometimes referred to as a grind. It would not be uncommon for this to happen even to the most committed of Christians. The every-day can take over our vision of that Great Day!
But this does not mean we’ve erred or believed something incorrectly. It just means that we’re human, as God created us, and we’re busy. He tells us to do His business until He returns (Luke 19). So we don’t need to feel guilty about not considering His return at all moments.
But it is so wonderful to think on this, to ponder it, as we can. It is so magnificent a thought that we cannot hope to take it all in, but we can still think of it and look forward to it. At that time there will be no doubt anywhere as to Who is in charge of this planet. That brings much joyful security into our lives.
Lord, help us to think about Your revelation of Yourself to all . . . and for telling us that You will reign. As we go about our service in You, Lord, help us to stop once in awhile at least to think about the end result of Your coming to Earth. All peoples of Earth will know You and will bend the knee, bow the head. Thank you for this knowledge worth pondering over and over and over.
