§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Philippians 3:14 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  No Stalemate.  Topics:  2 at end.

“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (WEB)  (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

When the opponent teams meet on the “inches to go” line of scrimmage at the end zone, we see the press in prominent action.  Or, well, maybe seeming inaction.  There’s just this big tightly-squeezed contingency of men showing us spectators a whole lot of non-action it would seem.  Everyone is pressing against the others so hard that no one moves . . . especially if the teams’ players are of similar power.

This tightly gathered group of men are actually doing a lot; but both sides are doing the same.  Full force is being used . . . but in opposite directions, thus causing a scenario of observed seeming inactivity – a stalemate of sorts.  It may appear to be just a group of guys who enjoy face-to-face communication.  But, of course, no.
The stalemate is broken finally, when one team covers a few inches of ground by pushing the other back; or a whistle is heard, and the tightly-packed pack breaks up.

In LIFE, we may experience this type of offensive/defensive situation.  We may think we are being pushed back by so many forces we can’t control – until it seems there is no hope of gaining any ground.  We may feel that we are weaker than the forces against us, whether they be from family; job; disaster and destruction; illness, and on and on.  We may have pushed against all or any of this without any sign of advancement in solving the problems.

But when we think of this football scene, there is one encouraging entity when it comes to our lives:  We have a force that is stronger than any that may push against it:  God.  He un-evens the odds, so to speak.  There is no power of force greater than His.  Even though we may push against circumstances until we are exhausted, He never tires and will never stop pushing with us.  Pushing for us.

Lord, thank You that the full force of You is all we need to overcome our opposition forces in LIFE, no matter the type.  There is no stalemate at the line with you; eventually we are victorious without a shrill whistle calling a halt to the pack at the line.  It’s over the line and into the end zone with You.

Topics:  Praise God for the power that He is and that nothing can stand against it.  Help others to see this as they face great opposition and obstacles in LIFE because of LIFE and death circumstances.
