Psalm 139:16 Thought/Prayer: A Chasm of Ages. Topics: 2 at end.

Within two days we: Celebrated a 99th birthday, attended a funeral visitation for a 91-year-old, and took a 93-year-old friend out to lunch. And, while at the funeral home, I sweet-talked a baby.
From 99 down to babyhood; our weekend held a large chasm across ages! It held a much greater cache of wisdom and experience than it did youthfulness. But the baby represented the hope.
It’s amazing, the plans God lays out for us regarding the number of our days. Who can predict? No one. The Bible tells us that the numbers of our days are written in God’s book even before the countdown started, up or down, however you view it. Interestingly, God doesn’t share our number with us.
If we knew, would it change things? If, as in some space-time television movie, we all knew the exact moment at which we would exit Planet Earth, what would we do differently? Get faster at busy-ness? Love harder? Kick back for the view on the last day of our ride?
Well, we don’t have to worry about planning our last breathing second: God has it planned. And maybe one of the greatest things we can do with our seemingly nebulous number of seconds (multiply it out – a 90-year-old has used close to 3,000,000,000 seconds—yes, billions) is to pray for others to be born in to the world with all of their own seconds. Let’s increase seconds-capacity on earth to the googol max. Let’s save for doing good all those minutes and seconds of life that are at risk at abortion centers. These little babies deserve to live and to play out their lives for as long as God has given, in His gift of life to them.
It’s a matter of prayer and of action. We all can pray. We all can’t go to an abortion mill; fortunately, there is not one in every town. But we can with grace talk “LIFE” to our friends and neighbors. We can find out what potential life legislation is going on in our state and then vote. We can contribute to pregnancy centers in our state and help out with life activities in our churches.
Lord, help us to realize the value of even one bit of life on Earth. Guide us to pray and pray for Your precious will to be done here. Help us to always consider life first, in thoughts and prayers. Help us to value the 9 months of pregnancy, and then 99 years of life, and then the 9-month old baby: one equally with the other.
