When we bow down to worship our Maker, sometimes our prayers are for the babies in the wombs who are at risk for never being born. Well, we can see that there is a part of this scripture that speaks to us about this. It something with which we can identify. It’s this, as in the scripture: When we kneel before the LORD, we are kneeling before our maker. Our Maker.
And who is the maker of the baby in any womb? God. The same God who made you and me (as babies in the womb) also makes all of the babies in their mothers’ womb, everywhere; globally. Always has.
So why should we notice this? It’s just a bit humbling to think that when we pray for the preborn, we are totally associated with those perhaps-just-conceived persons . . . or we’re associated with a nearly nine-month child at risk of being killed prior to birth. It’s just that God is so universal. His creativity is universal. And when we pray for the preborn, there is a big identification on our part. You and I once were there.
Lord, thank You for the associations you sometimes bring to our minds and hearts, and forgive any mis-association in our thoughts. But help us to realize that You are the one Who created us all and Who loves us all. Perhaps this is especially made clear when we are knelt on our knees before you, our God, our Maker.
