§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Song of Solomon 2:1 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  The Lily and the Rose.  Topics:  2 at end

“I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.”  AKJV   (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

A rose of Sharon plant is much different from a lily of the valley.  A rose of Sharon, being a shrub, can grow a few feet high.  The lily of the valley is smaller and shorter.  (It would be interesting to see a 5-ft. tall lily of the valley.  If one could really ring its bells [big ones], what ringing-out tones we would hear!  Or, what ringing out tones would we hear?!  Maybe churches would plant them for morning bell chiming.)  But we’re off-task here.

No, both of these plants have their unique characteristics.  Rose of Sharon shrubs’ flowers are bigger and come in more colors – you might say we place an order with God for the colors we want when we purchase a plant!  And they are not known for their musicality (just kidding! . . . Even those lilies aren’t really musical.).  But they do attract attention because of their size and bright colors.).  But they do attract attention because of their size and bright colors.

Lily of the valley plants’ little bells are usually white but sometimes pink.  You are not easily going to notice them from the street as you drive by someone’s house.  But walk someone’s front sidewalk or garden walk?  You may not see the sky above for admiring the lilies at your feet.

But our Lord says He is both, and isn’t He beautiful.  Maybe we could read into this that He is very versatile and with different effects in the world.  Of course, He, as Rose of Sharon, would be noticed driving by; but the fragrant effect of His being the Lily of the Valleys could not be more noticed to pathway-walkers.

Lord, we praise You for being Who You Are and what You are, by Your own description.  We would not be able to pick which beautiful flower of You we would pick, if allowed.  We would just stand close to a rose of Sharon that is cornered by a little walkway lined with the white coral bells.  Help us to praise You to others for Who and What You are.  Help those in LIFE struggles to be introduced to You and all your versatility in beauty.

Topics:  Praise The Lily of the Valleys in prayer.  Then pray to be able to tell someone in a LIFE struggle how beautiful He is.
