§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Isaiah 41:14-16   Thought/Prayer:  Swirling and Scooting.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff. Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.” .”  KJV http://www.bible.com (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

If the leaves on the parking lot had been gymnasts or acrobats, judges rating them at a competition would have assigned them all ten-plusses.  The dry leaves were swirling, flipping, scooting, hopping, climbing and dropping.  They were fun to watch, beings as I was in a car waiting for someone.  The leaves became my entertainment, a performance worth watching.

I kept trying to think of a scripture to attach to them.  This one caught my eye.  It speaks of Israel’s dealings with enemies, enemies that will be carried away and scattered:  like the wind, like a whirlwind.

Sometimes we feel that it is ourselves who are in the whirl of a wind, or in a gusty wind that sets us skipping along and tumbling over and over, willy-nilly.  We think we are going to go in one direction but we end up in a completely opposite place.  We want to go left, but we are whooshed to the right.  We get frustrated and grow tired of the seemingly random course we take.

But, God knows how the winds of time or change can affect us.  Jesus Christ on Earth was made as we are and experienced everything as we do (Heb. 2:17).  God knows where we will end up after all of the big “blow” is over.  He will be there as we settle into a less blustery part of our lives.

As we serve people facing crises of pregnancy, we must know that they surely must feel blown about and tumbled along.  There are many issues facing them.  Those of us who are not going through a time of testing, as though blown in a thousand directions, must be there for those who are.  And because we all experience this unsettled existence at some time in our lives, we are able to help them more.  We understand.  It’s the opposite of sending enemies tumbling; we can help because of our own blustery times.

Lord, help us to be faithful to you even when we are not seeking you from of the tempests of life that propel us toward you.  Help us, when calm reigns, to be particularly available to help those who are in the rages of life.  Help us to be close to you in the times of peace so that we can assist those who feel like dry leaves scooting helpless on a windy parking lot.

Topics:  Pray for the calm times of life and that we may use them to serve others.
