§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

WASH for Life?  Didn’t you mean “Watch for Life”?  This year, 09-19-2009

When Peter Shinn first mentioned Wash for Life, I thought he had meant “watch” instead of “wash.”  But no, Wash for Life is a real event, earning funding for pregnancy-care centers.  Here is all about it, from the website ww.washfor life.com:

“Who Are We?
The Wash for Life was started in 2006 by a group of six students and recent graduates from Thomas Aquinas College in Southern California. Director Jonathan Tonkowich came up with the idea while sitting in math class, thinking about ways to get young people involved in the pro-life movement. From there the Holy Spirit turned the project into an annual event that has had thousands of young people participate all around the country, and has raised over $146,000 for Pregnancy Care Centers.

“We believe that our generation can help our country in powerful ways. America was not built by people sitting back and letting the government fix all our problems. Instead, it was built by people who took action and tried make a better community in which to live. We think that an important way to oppose abortion is by creating communities that love and care for women and children.”

- WFL Director Jonathan Tonkowich”

Maybe some of us should consider sponsoring one of these in our city.  There has never been a car, outside of factory or showroom, that didn’t need a good wash!  There’s still time to plan one for Sept. 19, 2009.
