2 Cor. 3:17 Thought/Prayer: Freedom to Freedom. Topics: 2 at end.
As we approach the celebration of our nation’s birth, let us consider our freedoms: We can live where we want; we can worship where we want; and we can serve God in whatever ways we want. Why then should we be downcast? Because these freedoms are always at risk. And sometimes the enemy seems only to gain, not retreat.
It is up to those of us who seek to allow God to work in us and through us to be the advance guard of these freedoms. We should also be the rear guard who protects from behind, who “has the backs,” of our army-of-battle for God. The rear guard not only stands between the soldiers and a chasing army, but it has a view of all that goes on between the advance guard and the rear.
The freedom to live, of course, is the most basic of all. LIFE, liberty and happiness-attempted. Our nation’s citizens are free to seek the freedom we have been promised in our country’s documents. It is a big responsibility to use our freedom to advance freedom. Let us not let down.
Pray today that Christians will see their freedom as a license to promote freedom.
Topics: Pray for Christians to never take for granted the freedoms we have.
Pray for Christians to blaze the path that never yields to the side roads no matter how important other issues or battles may seem. We must steadfastly use our freedom in the Spirit in the march for LIFE.
