Over the counter abortion is now legal & available to your daughters as young as 17.  This drug contains a dosage of birth control that is over 30 times larger than a regular birth control pill.  Long term effects on the young girls and women who take it are not known, and it can also cause abortions.

After losing the funding war by veto to President Bush, a Democrat and a Republican are pushing for the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation to fund this life killing research.

“Rep. Diana DeGette, a Colorado Democrat, and Rep. Mike Castle, a Republican from Delaware, are asking the world’s richest man to help them fund embryonic stem cell research.”

Does every life have an equal value?  To pro-abortion and/or human killing advocates it does not.  To them, some are more valuable than others, and if the unseen (unborn) can be used to benefit the born, they believe we should experiment on them, and kill them for our benefit.

Speak out against this insanity.

United we stand - Divided they die - Pass it on

Two months ago we started a project called The Pro-Life Action Code.  The purpose of this code is to get Pro-Life Action Calls out to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, without having to ask people to update their web sites manually.  What counts as an Action Call?  Typically an Action Call is one that asks us to participate in Pro-Life efforts in our area or nationwide.  Because of these efforts, more people are praying at abortion mills around the country and more babies are being saved because of their presence.

Some of you may ask if praying at an abortion mill really helps save lives.  I can tell you it does.  There were 5 saves in the D.C. area alone by women turning away from abortion this last week!  These are just the ones we know of.

Go to ProLifeUnity.com and click on the “Members” link at the top.  These are sites that list the Action Code for action efforts around the country.  Since we started the Action Code project, the Action Calls viewed have gone from 165 in the entire month of February, to 4,486 on Thursday alone! 

Imagine that, in one day 4,486 people saw the Action Code with only 12 web sites participating.  Now imagine what it would be like if 1,000 web sites listed the Action Code?  Our goal is to reach 10,000 people by May the 5th.  Will you help us reach that goal?  Just copy & paste the following script into your web site:

On Friday the 7th I was at the Supreme Court from noon till 2:00 pm with my MarchTogether.com sign, which I also used at the LifeGuard event on Saturday. The LifeGuard event is going to be the main focus of our local Saturday MarchTogether.com effort. As a matter of fact, we are going to help them close the faciliy at 900 S. One of the best strategies is to just show the sign and look away from people so that they can focus on the words.  Sometimes I make comments, like “choice is death”, sometimes people stop & talk to me.  Most interaction is positive with only the occasional rabid pro-abort who barks something silly.  A couple in their late forties walked by.  They were smiling as the woman said something that I didn’t understand.  I asked her to repeat what she said which she did.  She said “the day that you have the ability to carry a baby in the womb is the day that you will have the right to say something about abortion”.  I laughed & said “I have the right to speak for the child that people want to kill”.  The man made some rude comment to which I replied, in a friendly way, “have a nice day”.  He flipped me off & they left.

On Saturday my wife & I participated in the event in Falls Church.  Ruby has made this event into a Novena (http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/11141b.htm) but instead of the usual 9 days she has spread it out over 9 weeks, once a week at the 900 S. Washington Street abortion mill.

All together there were almost 30 Pro-Life people there, gathered in prayer for the unborn.

LifeNews - Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich, a Republican, plans to sign a stem cell research funding bill state lawmakers approved, but Catholic officials sent him an eleventh-hour letter asking him to reconsider his decision.

Ehrlich plans to sign the bill on Thursday that would spend $15 million in taxpayer funds on stem cell research.

The measure originally was very strongly biased in favor of embryonic stem cell research, which involves the destruction of human life. It called on the state to give priority to funding it and did not include and religious leaders on a state panel that will determine how the money is spent.

SB 144 Prostitutes Women, Provides for Human Cloning and Mandates Abortion of Clones. #38

Here are several reasons to vote against SB 144:

(Comments in quotes below are from Richard M. Doerflinger’s analysis of SB 144. Mr. Doerflinger is Deputy Director of Pro-Life Activities, U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and is a resident of Silver Spring, Maryland.)

1. SB 144 will prostitute women and risk their health and even their lives for their oocytes.

“The bill’s confusing and incoherent rules on donating ‘unused material’ from fertility treatments has the effect of allowing and even encouraging the harmful exploitation of women to produce eggs for such cloning research. “Under SB 144, women treated in an infertility clinic may NOT be
solicited for their oocytes as ‘unused material,’ so women’s eggs will be obtained for research cloning ONLY by specially soliciting them to receive superovulatory drugs and produce eggs solely for research purposes.

“Eggs obtained especially for research cannot presumably be called merely ‘unused material’—and since the eggs would be obtained by stem cell
researchers, not by a health practitioner treating the woman for infertility, they do not seem covered by the bill’s informed consent requirements, its ban on donating for “valuable consideration,” OR its ban on encouraging women to produce eggs solely for research purposes in 5-2B-12.

“These bans ONLY cover physicians treating women for infertility, NOT cloning researchers. This loophole creates a bizarre legal situation.  Women may NOT donate ‘unused’ eggs left over from infertility treatments, which could have been donated without any new harm to them, but MAY donate (and even sell) their eggs solely for cloning research—at great risk to themselves, including a significant risk of hospitalization or even death.”

2. SB 144 permits cloning and gestating the clone through the first two months of life and will prostitute women for use of their uteruses.

“An enormous loophole is created by the new definition of ‘human cloning,’ which actually ALLOWS the mass-production of human embryos by
cloning to harvest their stem cells. The definition does forbid ‘development beyond an embryo.’ But ‘embryo’ is not defined, so courts will have to use its usual medical meaning, which extends to the end of the EIGHTH WEEK of development. Here’s the standard definition as found on MedicineNet.com: ‘Embryo: The organism in the early stages of growth and differentiation from fertilization to, in humans, the beginning of the third month of pregnancy. After that point in time, it is termed a fetus.’

“Under SB 144, then, it seems ‘fetus farming’ and the consequent exploitation of women as surrogate uteruses for gestation of cloned fetuses until the eighth week for their more developed stem cells is allowed (and available for public funding).”

3. SB 144 is biased in favor ESCR despite the many treatments and cures being provided by adult and umbilical cord blood stem cells.

“The bias in favor of embryonic stem cell research is still evident in the bill, through its definition of a stem cell as a cell that divides ‘indefinitely.’ Adult stem cells generally do not divide indefinitely, and do not need to do so in order to provide promising treatments for dozens of serious illnesses; embryonic stem cells divide for a longer time (perhaps even ‘indefinitely’), but tend to accumulate potentially cancerous genetic abnormalities as they do so (a problem that SB 144’s definition does not allude to).”

4. SB 144 mandates the abortion of a two month old fetus. Reporters often write that opponents of ESCR say that killing embryos is tantamount to
abortion.

SB 144 by mandating the killing of eight week old preborn confirms that opponents of SB 144 are correct, the Maryland ESCR bill mandates abortion.

In summary, SB 144 prostitutes and demeans women for their eggs and uteruses, provides for cloning and gestating of humans and mandates the
abortion of clones.

Please vote against SB 144.

How it works…

The idea is to get local churches to collect baby items from their congregations for the four weeks before Mother’s Day and on the Saturday before Mother’s Day present all the gifts to the local crisis pregnancy center.  The local contact would coordinate a location for all the churches to bring their baby items to and present them as a Mother’s Day gift.  100% of all items collected will go to crisis pregnancy centers and homes for unwed mothers.

Legislation to fund human embryonic stem cell research has passed the House and the Senate. The next step is for the two chambers to agree on which version of the bill to send to the governor for his signature.

This week, the House of Delegates will be considering the Senate version, SB 144. Please contact your delegate or delegates and ask them to oppose SB 144, the Maryland Stem Cell Research Act of 2006.

BOGOTA, March 20, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - His Eminence Pedro Cardinal Rubiano, Archbishop of Bogota, the capital of Colombia, has pleaded with pro-lifers world-wide to join in a massive prayer effort to stop abortion from being legalized in the country.  In a letter addressed to Dan Zeidler, the U.S. representative of the Caracas-based Latin American Alliance for the Family, the Cardinal said, “we ask for the support of all of the people in the entire world who care about life to join with us in crying out to heaven for the success of these efforts.”

A case before the nation’s Constitutional Court is to decide on whether abortion should be legalized in the country.
