Speaker Tom Murphy
This week Tom Murphy died, and he is now being celebrated for his 28 year reign as Speaker of the House. Journalists have hailed him the most powerful legislator in Georgia history.
Under Speaker Murphy’s reign, abortion ran rampant in Atlanta. He adamantly refused any attempts to regulate or restrict abortionists in the city. His reign oversaw the murder of over 1 million Georgia children, the vast majority of whom were black. Interestingly enough, he was also adamantly opposed to the Equal Rights Amendment of the 70’s.
For decades, Atlanta abortion clinics have operated with waivers that nullify state and federal standards for medical facilities. Many of the clinics do not accurately report abortion numbers, and do not have the necessary ambulatory surgical license. Georgia has the oldest gestational age in the country for abortion on demand. Thanks to 28 years of a man who guarded the free reign of abortionists in largely black neighborhoods, hundreds of thousands of black children are missing from Georgia.
Only 14% of Georgians are black women, yet they have over 60% of the abortions. The founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger declared, “We must never let it get out that we are trying to exterminate the blacks.”
With the death of Speaker Murphy, let us pray for the death of tyranny in our state. The right to life is not granted by civil government and cannot be taken away by the civil government. May we pray that our current Speaker of the House respects life, and uses his power wisely and in the defense of the right to life or that God would remove him from office.
For the death of tyranny and the victory of life in ‘08,
Jenny
