§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

The Democrats are going to force America to accept their health plan, regardless of what Republicans think. Obama has said so & Congress has said so. Now, what are we going to do about it? Are we going to just sit back and say "oh well, there's nothing I can do"?

Don't go down with a whimper!!!

If we're going to go Socialist, which is exactly what this health care plan will do to America, then let's at least let Obama & his Democrat cronies know we don't appreciate them destroying the fabric of the greatest country on God's green earth.

  I grew up in Germany.  When I first moved to America at 19 years of age, I was a proud Socialist.  I didn’t understand the greatness of this country.  It took at least 15 years for me to get it.  Now I’m surprised Americans want to throw it all away.  Why?  How could this happen?

- Why have we given our schools to liberals who hate America and what it stands for?
- Why have we allowed Republicans to become almost spineless?
- Why is there such apathy in America?
- Why has it gotten to the point where the word “American” is going to be removed from American textbooks?

I believe there are good reasons for these questions & the many more that you probably are thinking.  Some of the reasons we have reached this point are:

1) We believe in the end, all things will work themselves out
2) We push the button and leave it to our representatives to take care of things
3) We are afraid of confrontation and in our “Christian” nature, we avoid it
4) We feel helpless
5) We lack conviction and courage

I know there are many more reasons why we are where we are.  The point is, we are here, now. 

  This is a turning point for America.  It started many years ago with events such as decriminalized child-killing (abortion), then moved into embryonic stem cell research and cloning.  Along the way came the slow disintegration of our morals and values in our schools by allowing sex education, the distribution of condoms and birth control, and then, when those “solutions” to preventing pregnancy fail, our children are led to Planned Parenthood killing centers where they murder their children, our grandchildren.

  Then, in full view of America and the world, an innocent handicapped woman was sacrificed.  It was no coincidence how Terri Schiavo was murdered.  It was the most “in your face” killing of a human being ever.  Terri was not asleep and she was not comatose.  She was a living, breathing, awake human being, and the world did nothing as she was publicly executed.  What was her crime?  She wasn’t capable of defending herself.

  As Terri was slowly starved to death, I experienced the “Christian” response to euthanasia, abortion and human killing research.  I had been attending a men’s prayer group on Thursday & Friday mornings.  I did my best to avoid dominating the prayer meetings so that we could focus on the topics of the day.  When I wanted to discuss the assault on Terri Schiavo, I wrote the leader of the group and asked him how I could do so and sent him an info sheet on what was happening to her for his approval.  The next day, at the beginning of the prayer group, I came early and asked him when and how I could discuss Terri’s struggle.  He said I could do so at the end of the prayer session, and he shoved my material to the side of the table.

  When our prayer session ended, I thought he might bring up my material & what I wanted to discuss.  I was wrong.  I brought it up and asked if it would be okay if I discussed it then.  He reluctantly allowed me to do so, but people where already getting up, talking and leaving.

  The next day, at the end of the men’s group, the leader asked to speak to me.  He asked 2 other men to join us in conversation.  The next thing I know, he demanded that I stop speaking about pro-life issues, and the two men flanking me supported his demand.  They say a men’s prayer group is not the place for these issues, that we are there to only talk about God.  I explain how I had never disrupted our groups with my topics, and that I had only brought them up when the group was asked what we wanted to pray for, and discussed it independently with people before and after the group meetings.

  That wasn’t good enough for them.  The leader said he’d seen it before where people would come into the group with “their” topic and then they would try to take over the prayer meetings.  I insisted this would not be the case, but in the end, it was decided, I either stop talking about pro-life issues or they would have to ask me to leave.  I told them that I refused their condition and that I was leaving.  When I got home, I sent an email to the main men’s group expressing my disappointment with them.  Some people supported me, others did not, but nobody came to my defense.

We’re not talking a small group here.  We’re talking about one of the most organized men’s prayer groups in the world.

  I believe Christian conservatives have lost sight of what “it’s” all about.  I don’t believe we’re supposed to just believe in God, go to work, pray and be touchy-feely with those to whom we are close.  I believe we’re supposed to look around us and stop really bad things from happening and that we should do everything we can to defend the defenseless and help the helpless.

  One million people are killed in America every year and close to 50 million are killed by their mothers around the world.  Every year.  I’ll say that again, mothers kill 50 million of their children every single year.

  I give Christians a global F.  We have failed in so many ways.  We work hard to evangelize and spread the good news of Jesus Christ, we feed the the hungry and then, we turn our backs when Christians and others kill their children in the womb.  We turn our backs on the killing of the disabled.  We turn our backs on the killing of the elderly.

  Do we believe in the battle of good vs evil or is it just a fairy tale to us?  I really think allowing a mother to walk into a facility and kill her children is flat-out evil, and obviously, not only does damage to the child, but it also damages the mother, who will have to remember her action the rest of her life.  I’m not saying the mother herself is evil, I’m saying we have allowed evil to permeate society to the point where people don’t understand right from wrong anymore.

  The health care bill will be the final nail in America’s coffin.  If the Democrats get this one through, they will kill us from cradle to grave, and the icing on the cake for them is that we will pay for it.  We will pay for abortions and we will pay for euthanasia and the killing of the defenseless.
