How To Have An Honest Abortion Debate, by Jack Yoest

The Alert Student knows that Your Business Blogger(R) teaches graduate courses in Marketing and Public Relations.

One of the first rules of modern Public Relations is to establish a two way communication between parties. This is nearly impossible when abortion rights advocates refuse to acknowledge what is being aborted in an abortion.

Is it sub-human or a person?

Megan Fox begins to address this challenge in her post,

10 Planned Parenthood Lies Every Pro-Choice Person Should Condemn
by Megan Fox,

“1. Lying About What Abortion Is

Perhaps the worst part about the entire discussion is the refusal by one side to admit what it is we’re actually talking about. While the pro-life side says, “Hey! This is human life!” the other side says, “No it isn’t,” and refuses to debate. But science and technology don’t lie. There are a few intellectually honest pro-choicers out there who start their argument from an “Okay, this is the ending of life, but here’s why I support its legality.” Give me a nation full of those kind of people! There is room for this debate. It needs to happen, but when one side is refusing to acknowledge that water is wet how do you move the conversation forward?

The best conversation starter I’ve seen is Gianna Jessen, abortion survivor. It’s pretty hard to look her in the face and explain to her why you think she should have been killed and that other babies just like her should face that fate. The following is a true story that happened on the floor of the Colorado congress thanks to Representative Ted Harvey. After hearing his congress was going to celebrate Planned Parenthood’s 90th anniversary, Harvey felt compelled to act. He brought Gianna Jessen to session with him. Before they began he slipped the speaker a note to ask if Jessen, who has cerebral palsy, could sing the national anthem. She stunned the session with her beautiful voice. Harvey then told her amazing story of overcoming her disease and the many accomplishments she’s achieved. After the entire congress was in awe of this girl, Harvey asked for the floor one more time to finish the story.

“The cause of Gianna’s cerebral palsy is not because of some biological freak of nature, but rather the choice of her mother. You see when her biological mother was 17-years-old and 7-and-a-half months pregnant, she went to a Planned Parenthood clinic to seek a late-term abortion. The abortionist performed a saline abortion on this 17-year-old girl. This procedure requires the injection of a high concentration of saline into the mother’s womb, which the fetus is then bathed in and swallows, which results in the fetus being burned to death, inside and out. Within 24 hours the results are normally an induced, still-born abortion.

As Gianna can testify, the procedure is not always 100 percent effective. Gianna is an aborted late-term fetus who was born alive. The high concentration of saline in the womb for 24 hours resulted in a lack of oxygen to her brain and is the cause of her cerebral palsy. Members, today, we are going to recognize the 90th anniversary of Rocky Mountain Planned Parenthood…

    BANG! The gavel came down.

Just as I was finishing the last sentence of my speech—the climax of the morning—the speaker of the House gaveled me down and said, “Representative Harvey, I will allow you to continue your introduction, but not for the purposes of debating a measure now pending before the House.”
    At which point I said,

Mr. Speaker, I understand. I just wanted to put a face to what we are celebrating today.

    Silence. Deafening silence.

When faced with the truth of what abortion is even the staunchest defenders are silent. And silence isn’t what we need right now but an open and honest discussion.”

We are proud to stand with the brave people of Mississippi who will defend the unborn and end abortion. It’s hard to believe that this is the year 2011 and the defenseless people of America do not have protection from being intentionally killed in the womb. A mother’s womb is a place where we human beings should be the most protected, yet 1.2 million people are killed there by their mothers every single year in America.

Mississippi will be the first state in the union to recognize the value of human life at the moment of creation. We encourage all good people of Mississippi to defend the unborn and vote yes on Proposition 26 on November 8th.

Over the past week, many of us have read news about the Mississippi Supreme Court ruling stating that their state citizens can vote on personhood. This has not by any means been an overnight success. In fact, there have been years of getting signatures for petitions, praying, educating voters and educating elected officials.
Education is perhaps the greatest weapon imaginable against injustice. Science is clear on this, combining two different halves of DNA results in a unique new person. What can be said against facts? By educating our elected officials through letters and phone calls we greatly advance the fight for life. With every contact we create a demand to take action with legislation that defends preborn human beings.
The monthly Call for Life/ Letters for life is a perfect tool two educate our elected official on the personhood of the preborn.

Loving your neighbor

<dc:subject>Columnists, Antwion Butler, Pro-Life Unity, Monthly Call for Life, Letters for Life</dc:subject>

The bible teaches us that the greatest commandment is to love the lord with all your heart, mind and soul. The second greatest commandment, according to Jesus, in the New Testament is similar; it is to love your neighbor as you love yourself. With these two laws we get a very clear picture of what God expects from believers. We should love God above all others and love our neighbors at least as much as we love ourselves.

The question is however, who is our neighbor? According to the words of Jesus our Christ, neighbors are more than just the people who love us or our brethren though him. When reading the bible it is easy to see that every living human being is our neighbor; everyone would include the old, the young and yes the preborn. My question today is then are we getting enough of this message to those who care the most about our God given mandates? Is this message in our churches? A second question is what would be the effect on the pro-life movement if pastors regularly chose to give a pro-life message every now and then.

In recent Gallup and Rasmussen polls a vast majority of Americans considered themselves Christians. Many of these citizens attended church. I believe we would see a major increase in the number of pro-life involvement if life was a regular theme on Sunday morning.

This month after writing a letter or making a phone call to your representative in support of life go one step further. Take a few moments to contact your pastor and ask them to speak out for life.
