Thank you Catholic Church For Saving My Life

I must thank the Catholic Church for being a bold and strong defense for life. My mother told me that had it not been for a priest helping her to safety she would have been forced to have an illegal abortion. Along with the help of a Methodist minister a priest enabled my mother to get to a safe place and give birth. She told me “You wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for that priest.”

The Catholic Church has consistently stood on the front line against abortion. Sadly I have to say that other Christian denominations aren’t as bold or consistent though there are some groups as bold and strong as the Catholics. Over and over I meet faithful Catholics that repeatedly commit to sidewalk counseling, prayer, political action and public outreaches. Some have been kicked and knocked down while praying on their knees as was one older woman in Houston, TX. But they continue to speak for the unborn.

Father Pavone is a leader in the pro life cause. Some have called him a workaholic but he knows clearly that it is a matter of life and death. Many people working silently and without any accolades stand with him and other Catholics to save the lives of babies and their mothers. Catholics were very kind to my mother giving her a place to live until 2 weeks after I was born. I am grateful for her care. I am also most grateful for the parents I had through adoption. While too few people are considering adoption for their children today, I must speak out for adoption. I had the opportunity of my life literally. Dedicated people at Catholic Charities enabled me and my parents to have a family. What greater blessing could I have?

Catholic Charities states “The Catholic tradition teaches that human dignity can be protected and a healthy community can be achieved only if human rights are protected and responsibilities are met. Therefore, every person has a fundamental right to life and a right to those things required for human decency. Corresponding to these rights are duties and responsibilities—to one another, to our families, and to the larger society.” I must say that because of their agreement with God on choosing life without exception I was allowed a chance at life. While I am not Catholic I would like to encourage people who know Christ as their Lord and Savior to follow His example and let the little children follow Him. To do that they must be allowed to be born. The Catholics are a great example in the defense of life for the unborn.

No, Catholics are not the only ones on the front line against abortion but they absolutely are leading. Thank you to everyone who has made an effort to stand for life. You may not get the thank you from that baby you saved but allow me to speak as proxy. I cannot thank that priest that helped my mother but I can thank the millions of people, Catholic and other faithful persons for our precious lives.

In your stand with Christ your reward will be great in heaven. God bless you.
