Some, or many of you have probably witnessed a fight at some point in your life.  Others were the ones throwing the punches.  For the most part, the fights were probably petty, over girl/boyfriends or some other dopey reason to waste a lot of energy and/or blood.

Then there are those fights where you feel like you are trying to prevent someone from doing you serious harm.  I had the unfortunate experience of having to defend myself, or fear for my well-being, a lot until I graduated from high school.

I can tell you from experience that stopping the other person/people from hurting you badly is something that really gets the heart pounding, fast, & loud.

I remember the people on the sidelines, yelling "Punch him in the face!" & "Beat him up!."  Actually you don't hear much when you're in a fight, you're too busy trying to survive it without a bloody nose, busted jaw or missing tooth.  And remember, your heart is pounding, fast & loud.

One time, this guy I was fighting was really angry & it was all I could do to hold him off.  By the way, I didn't like hitting people in the face, and because of that, some fights were probably prolonged.  Anyway, suddenly, someone grabbed me from behind & yelled for the others to do the same to the other guy.

That didn't happen.  What did happen is the guy I was fighting saw his opportunity & came charging at me, fists flying.  I turned as much as I could, but it's hard to defend yourself with someone holding both arms behind your back.  Fortunately I broke loose & managed to defend myself until the fight was broken up.

Sometimes, in the pro-life movement, I can sense people holding my arms, weakening my defense for the unborn.  It's sad that people view the fight for the unborn as a competition.  Lives are lost, no, people are killed because of this petty behavior.

Let me move on to the "Tell me how you really feel" part of this story.  Pro-life is an action, not a word.  If all you do is talk about how bad abortion is, or if all you do is tell people you are pro-life, then I have some strong words for you.

To sit on the sidelines while people are dying is pathetic.  There is no excuse.  Four thousand people in America are killed every day by their mothers, inside what is supposed to be the most protected place in the world, the womb.

There is no middle and there is no neutral.  If you aren't actively engaged in the pro-life movement, you ARE pro-abortion. Not only that, even if you are only donating money, that's not good enough. This isn't like a real war where you have to worry about being shot at. There are plenty of things you can do, like call for life every month. No if, ands or buts. Everyone can do both, and no part/sum is too small.

Thirty-two years ago, on a Friday, I was celebrating the news that I was going to be a dad.  I partied through the weekend with my friends & was amazed at the miracle of life.  On Monday, I found out my girlfriend was forced by her parents to have an abortion.

I couldn't believe what mankind was capable of & never really knew what abortion was, until my child, my girlfriend, our friends & our families became just another set of statistics.

I felt like I had lost the biggest fight in my life, & I never even had a chance to swing a fist.  There's nothing so final as someone telling you your child is dead, even if you never met her.

During Nazi Germany, Germans sat on the sidelines & millions died. During the times of slavery & civil rights abuses, many died & were oppressed and Americans sat on the sidelines.  Now, 50 million people are killed every single year around the world and billions of people are sitting on the sidelines.

How about you?

Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Glenn Beck,  church leaders & all of you so-called "conservatives", if you are not a part of the solution, you are a big part of the problem.  I don't care what you MIGHT be doing behind the scenes.  The conservative media all rose up against President Bush's immigration bill and ended  it. You can do the same with abortion.  

Speeches don't count.  Millions of people are looking for church and conservative media for leadership, yet you are AWOL.

Now for the good news.  None of us are forced to be on the sidelines, we choose to be there, and that's something we can quickly & easily change, and if you're a Christian, you know Who to ask for help.

I believe the reason almost all pro-life activists are Christian is because Christ picked us.  I'm honored to be one of his grunts.  He picked you too, but maybe you just don't know it yet.

We can end abortion.  We will end abortion.  When it happens, will you be able to look your children in the eyes & say "I was there.  Christ picked me to save His children, and I served him with honor."

Homosexual and AIDS activists heckled President Obama during a Democrat fundraiser in New York on Sept. 22, complaining about the military's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy and inadequate AIDS funding.

Obama responded that his administration had increased AIDS funding and offensively added, "The people [who] will potentially take over if we don't focus on the election, I promise you, will cut AIDS funding," as if that really would happen, as if Republicans really want those afflicted with AIDS to die. Obama's comment was no different than one made by boorish Democrat Rep. Alan Grayson, who accused Republicans opposing Obamacare of wanting sick people to "die quickly."

In fact, worldwide AIDS funding increased dramatically under President Bush.... And Obama flatlined that funding.

But I digress. The point is that we know the most prevalent cause of AIDS in the U.S. is men having sex with men. The Centers for Disease Control has just released tragic new statistics...

The fact is, men having sex with men is bad for their health. The prevalence of AIDS is just one indicator.

Likewise, promiscuous heterosexual sex is bad for one's health, leading to a prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases - some incurable, like herpes; some incurable and deadly, like AIDS – unwanted pregnancies and infertility, to name just three physical consequences.

But where are the health warnings?...

Abortionist Romeo Ferrer Closes Gynecare Center Abortion Facility in Maryland, Ending His 20-Year Reign of Terror.

Baltimore, Maryland: Notorious abortionist Romeo Ferrer is closing his Severna Park, Maryland, abortion facility after a 10-year campaign from dedicated pro-life organizations and the suspension of his medical license by the Maryland Board of Physicians.

Pro-Life activists learned September 23 that the Gynecare Center is not scheduling new appointments and does not have a doctor to perform the procedure. The staff answering the phone indicated they are closing the facility.

Ferrer had recruited another Maryland doctor, Ghevont Wartanian, to continue the killing of innocent pre-born babies at his Severna Park facility after Ferrer's license was suspended for professional malfeasance.

Wartanian, who has been sued over 18 times for malpractice and negligence, is no stranger to controversy. Lawsuits blamed Wartanian for incidents ranging from the death of newborn babies to causing brain damage and a host of other medical mistakes.

It appears Wartanian, a doctor of obstetrics and gynecology, has abandoned the idea of supplementing his income by child killing. Wartanian contacted Gynecare one day after the 40-Day for Life vigil was moved to his Glen Burnie, Maryland, OB-GYN medical practice. He instructed Gynecare to cancel all of his existing appointments, and informed them he would not be returning to the facility.

“We are grateful for the news that Gynecare has closed its doors and will no longer be murdering innocent babies in their mothers' wombs. This is a great first step regarding abortionist Ferrer; we now have to continue to pressure the Maryland Board of Physicians to permanently revoke Ferrer's license," said Defend Life Director Ames.

Pro-Life activists are anxiously awaiting news whether Gynecare is closed for good or just temporarily until Ferrer can find another abortionist to continue child killing.

National pro-life leader and Maryland attorney Steve Peroutka commented, “The closing of Gynecare and the suspension of Dr. Ferrer’s medical license is the culmination of a decade of hard work by numerous pro-life organizations and thousands of prayer warriors. I am grateful that Defend Life, Operation Rescue, 40 Days for Life, Maryland Right to Life, Living Hope for Life, and countless others joined me in this noble crusade to close one of the most notorious child killing facilities in our state.”

The GOP is getting ready to release another "Contract", this one called 'Pledge to America', of where they stand and what issues they will be pursuing as a party. Why do I get the feeling LIFE isn't going to be an important topic in this one just as it wasn't in the last one?

Brendan Buck, spokesman for America Speaking Out said “House Republicans have been listening to the American people, and we’re going to put forth a positive agenda that focuses on solutions for the top priorities of the nation,”.

Will one of those "top priorities" be saving the 4,000 people who are slaughtered in the womb every single day in America? It doesn't look like it. Fox News says there is something in there to make the "Hyde Amendment" permanent, which prevents federal dollars from being used for abortions.

Congressman Mike Pence said this morning "the Republican party lost their way" & referred to the 'Pledge' as a way to correct this mistake. Initially the 'Pledge' had no social issues in it, only Tea-Party-style fiscal issues.

Let's face it, all the stuff that has been inside GOP "contracts" has not been about protecting the least of us. There is no focus on what is killing millions of Americans every year. Some examples of issues which are completely ignored:

- Abortion on demand - Over one million people killed in America alone every single year
- Cloning - clone and kill policies are in effect around the country and are funded by states and national money. A person can be legally cloned, (s)he just isn't allowed to live. That person is used for experimentation only.
- Embryonic stem cell research - What do you think an embryo is anyway? An embryo is a living human being at an early stage of growth, like a fetus, baby or toddler. Why do decent Americans allow the killing of humans for science? How has science become such a mass killer of mankind?
- In vitro fertilization - Yes, it is a struggle not to be able to conceive, but why would we allow thousands of innocent people to be killed just so that you can have a baby? Selective reduction, a fancy word for kill the extras, is used when too many humans have been, what you might call "started", in the womb. Remember Octomom? The reason she delivered 8 children is because she didn't want to kill 6 of them, a standard practice in such cases. Before you judge her, think about the millions of Americans who are killing their "extra" children so they can have safer deliveries.
- Birth control pills - Only one stage of the birth control pill is meant to "control" pregnancy. The other two stages are meant to kill the baby if, by chance, the baby has made it past the first "control". If you take birth control pills, it is likely you have killed 1 or many children & didn't even know it.

The Tea Party folks haven't publicly stated their position on LIFE either, and if you look at their 'Contract from America', you can see the topic missing there as well.

5. Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government
6. End Runaway Government Spending
7. Defund, Repeal, & Replace Government-run Health Care
8. Pass an ‘All-of-the-Above” Energy Policy
9. Stop the Pork
10. Stop the Tax Hikes

It appears to me that Republicans just put their fingers up to the wind to see what conservative America wants them to do. They don't seem to have the ability to know right from wrong & stand on it. They struggle with the moral issues nowadays because for so many years they have been pushing to please middle-America.

I interviewed Congressman Pence last week & he said "I believe at the very core of these times, is a recognition that this not just an economic or political crisis we are facing, but it's a moral crisis. And the American people know this. And so giving voice to the values of what have made this country great, our commitment to the sanctity of every human life, our commitment to traditional marriage, our commitment to the importance of religion in everyday life, is paramount for our leaders to express."



The Republican party said they listened to America & that's why they are pushing to make Hyde amendment language permanent. America, if we want to end abortion, we have to demand an end to abortion. We the people need to make this happen because they the politicians are going to do what politicians do, get re-elected.

I have not seen the 'Pledge' yet, but I will be there this morning for the unveiling. I pray I am wrong & that there is strong language in there which calls for an end to abortion. With the history of the Republican party on this challenge though, I'm more likely to win the lottery.

I'm not saying don't vote for Republicans, I'm saying you can't JUST vote for Republicans. We have to vote and than demand an end to abortion. How would you feel if you were trying to end slavery & the Republicans came out & said that they were going to stop federal funding of slave owners? The slave market would still continue, just as abortion will still continue under the Hyde provisions. Hyde amendment provisions are a farce. It's a way for Republicans to claim they are pro-life without having to demand an end to abortion.

Yes, the Republican Party is the pro-life party. But the abortion issue often seems like its red-headed stepchild.

For example, the 1994 House GOP Contract with America, which provided a Republican roadmap out of that decade's liberal abyss, completely omitted any mention of abortion....

This week I'm happy to report the 2010 House GOP Contract with America is now anticipated to address the abortion issue....

I also wrote last week the pro-life political projectile right now is the tea party. Some disagree, complaining tea partiers don't necessarily want to spotlight our issue either, because it's "too divisive."

But pay attention to the sterling pro-life candidates the tea party is giving us. As John Avlon wrote at The Daily Beast Sept. 20:

But the soothing big-tent implications offered by those who say the GOP should de-emphasize social issues only seem to go one way. There is no concurrent sense of tolerance for candidates with liberal or libertarian social positions. Where are the tea party candidates who are pro-choice?

MSNBC liberal host Rachel Maddow incredulously pointed out last week that five GOP tea party-backed U.S. Senate candidates are pro-life with no exceptions: Sharron Angle of Nevada, Ken Buck of Colorado, Joe Miller of Alaska, Christine O'Donnell of Delaware and Rand Paul of Kentucky.

This is huge.... Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards understands, hence her frantic email alert Monday calling this development, "not just crazy – truly frightening."...

And, of course, there is the superfluity of pro-life female candidates, causing many to proclaim this "The Year of the Pro-Life Woman."...
